Grenoble is a charming French town located in the southern Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. It is situated at the foot of the mountains between the Drac and Isère rivers and is a popular winter sports destination. The city is also home to several museums, research centers, and universities. Place Grenette
Place Grenette in Grenoble is a pedestrian zone in the city centre that can get very crowded during the festive season. The place is home to many bars, restaurants and other shops. Place aux Herbes
Place aux Herbes is a market and marching place located in the historic center of Grenoble. It is open every day except Monday and is a popular place to purchase local produce. During the Middle Ages, this market was the seat of popular power in the city. During this time, the market was also known as the Place du Conseil.

In 1606 the duc de Lesdiguieres renamed the area. He agranded a part of the place that is now known as the Place aux Herbes. This part of town is the highest point in the city. It was here that the first populations of Madeleine were planted. These plants were planted several metres above the flots.
Musee archeologique Saint-Laurent
The Musee archeologique Saint-Laurend in Grenoble is a national treasure, located in an old church from the twelfth century that stands on a Gallo-Roman necropolis. The museum contains an important collection of structures and buildings, including a funeral crypt from the sixth century. Visitors will learn about the cultural and spiritual history of Grenoble, as well as the evolution of its architecture.
The museum includes excavations of an early medieval church from the Merovingian era. It is also home to the Merovingian crypt, a unique witness of Middle Ages architecture and art. During the week, the museum is closed, but is open on Saturdays and Sundays.
The Musee archeologique Saint-Laurelnt is located in a historic neighborhood of Grenoble. This museum preserves the traces of two millennia of history. It also features a monument from the VIe and VIIe siecles.
