1. Bromborough Park
A huge park with a visitor centre, cafe, playgrounds, barbecue areas, paid car parking, bridleways and trails through woodland, the park has a great mix of activities. There’s also a memorial to the victims of the IRA and the former ferry ticket office that’s now a museum.
There’s also a large retail park that offers out-of-town shopping with all the biggest high street names and plenty of entertainment outlets like home furnishings, decorating and ten pin bowling. The town’s heritage centres include Port Sunlight and Lady Lever Art Gallery.
Bromborough Rake is a small but pretty station that’s got a different feel to it. It’s perhaps the best-looking station on the Wirral line and it has a vibrancy to it that’s missing from other stations. It’s still a shame that the station has a poor service but it’s something that could be addressed in the future. If you want to travel here, be sure to book your tickets in advance.
2. The Co-op
The Co-op is a convenience store in the heart of Bromborough. It is located next to the train station, and is close to many popular attractions in the area. It offers a variety of services, including food and drink, electrical goods, and clothes. There are also several parking spaces available on site, which can be booked in advance with JustPark.
The Rake is one of two railway stations serving the village of Bromborough in Wirral, England. It is situated on the Chester and Ellesmere Port branches of the Wirral Line, operated by Merseyrail. Southbound trains serve Chester, while northbound services go to Ellesmere Port and Liverpool City Centre via Birkenhead.
The Co-op is a short walk from Bromborough International Business Park, Raeburn Primary School, and Marfords Park. It is also near Octel Sports And Social Club and Westham Golf Course. You can explore all of these places using the Moovit app. The app provides step-by-step directions, and you can even book your tickets in advance.
3. Bromborough Library
Bromborough Rake is the most northerly station on the Wirral Line. Train services running from here go to Liverpool and Chester. The station has limited facilities, with only a ticket office and a couple of shelters.
There are also some great houses for rent near the station. For example, you can stay at this gorgeous five-bedroom home that’s crammed with features to keep your family comfortable.
The local community has rallied to help families in need. Sunday league football team players raised PS1,000 in less than 48 hours after seeing photos of food parcels that weren’t worth the PS30 claim.
The reopening of Moreton Library is a welcome sight for residents. It joins the reopening of libraries in Birkenhead, Bebington, Wallasey Village, Hoylake, Greasby, Rock Ferry and West Kirby. Higher Bebington’s community bid is still in progress, though. A decision on its future will be made in the new year. Until then, there’s always Bromborough Library.
4. Bromborough Museum
The museum offers a number of family activities and exhibits. It is home to costumes from the popular television show Peaky Blinders, as well as a Titanic simulator. There are also displays on local history and the history of Liverpool, and a number of art galleries.
