Benfleet is a town and railway station in Castle Point district, Essex, England. The station is served by the c2c line.
In 894 the area became the site of a battle between Vikings and Saxons. A church was built in thanksgiving for the victory.
The local rugby club is Benfleet Vikings RFC, which has senior and youth sides. The senior side competes in the Shepherd Neame Essex Merit League.

Castle Point Local Highway Panel is making preparations to introduce an Experimental Order to improve traffic flows through the junction of High Street and Station Road. The change will see High Street become a one way road permitting travel in a north westerly direction away from the station, with no entry restriction placed at the junction of Station Road (sited a couple of metres north of the B1014/Ferry Road Roundabout).
The Experimental Order will run for 18 months to give local residents and commuters time to adjust their driving habits and for Essex Highways to assess the impact of the changes on traffic flows. At the end of the trial a decision will be made on whether or not the changes should become permanent.
