If you love wetland wildlife then this is a must see attraction. With over 800 acres of adventure you can splash, dunk, play, feed and get up close and personal to nature’s amazing waterfowl.

The kids can get up close and personal with the animals and learn about how to look after them. Alternatively, they can ride on the free tractor rides around the park and see the animals at play.
The farm also hosts events such as Fright Farm for Halloween and Farmer Christmas during the festive season. Food and drink is available from Ted’s Grill, both to eat in or take away. It is a family-friendly venue and staff are on hand to assist with any special requirements. There is a dedicated area for pushchairs and wheelchairs. The floor is flat and made of concrete.
4. Windmill Animal Farm
On an average weekday there are 19 trains between Burscough Junction and Preston (Lancs), with the fastest journey taking 25 mins. The average fare is £25.80, which is less than the national average of £30. On weekends, there are fewer trains than on weekdays. The station is served by Avanti West Coast and Northern Rail.
Windmill Animal Farm is a working farm with animals to see and pet, including Scottish Highland Cattle, rare Jacob Sheep from Spain, Dexter cattle, Pygmy goats and Australian wallabies. It also offers children’s activities such as animal-feeding sessions, an indoor play barn and outdoor adventure playgrounds, plus a 15” gauge miniature railway.
Students work collaboratively to build a windmill as part of an Animal Farm unit. Then, when the windmill is destroyed by the pigs, students consider how it could be rebuilt and explore what might have led to its destruction.
